Mixed Age Singing Lessons

Description:

Classes run for 45 mins.

Aims:

To develop self-confidence, self-esteem and social skills while nurturing an interest in music through performance and other musical activities.

Essentially, the A-Class covers posture, good singing, and performance practices that are visual in their application, but the main emphasis is generally on aural skills.

Choreography is used to help students improve their co-ordination, remember words, and feel more comfortable on stage.

At the completion of the A-Class, students should be able to:

• sing in tune;
• identify time signatures and other basic musical terms;
• use microphones correctly;
• join the class in singing simple rounds and other harmony;
• sing songs from the Fun-Key Music repertoire.

Presentations:

Two concerts each year:

• Group performance at the mid-year concert;
• Solo and group performance at the end of year concert.
